Americas and is currently the busiest single coal export facility on the continent handling

primarily steelmaking coal, but also energy coal. It is located on a man-made island

linked to the British Columbia Municipality of Delta by a five-kilometre rail and road

causeway. The Roberts Bank facility is the shipping terminal for coalmines in

southeastern British Columbia and westcentral Alberta, as well as for mines in the

states of Montana, Wyoming and Utah.

Since Westshore opened for business in May 1970 to June 30, 2010 the terminal has

loaded more than 7,600 ships, unloaded almost 60,750 coal trains and loaded over 630
